Civil Aeronautics Board to Increase Fees and Charges This Year

Civil Aeronautics Board to Increase Fees and Charges This Year -- Aviation news for the urban flyers and airline operators! The Civil Aeronautics Board (CAB) is cooking up a scheme, which puts on certain increases in fees, penalties and charges this year. Said deputy executive director of CAB, Porvenir Porciuncula:
With the new issuance, we expect that it will be approved this year. We will revisit our earlier proposals
The board eyes on an over 20 percent increase in 2013. This move takes on an Administrative Order No. 31, which allows agencies to review rates for charges in services and may apply necessary adjustments.

After the May elections in the Philippines, CAB will be submitting its proposal to the Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC). Added Porciuncula:
Under the law, the maximum penalty is P5,000. That was in 1952 (Republic Act No. 776 or An Act to Reorganize the CAB and the Civil Aeronautics Administration)
Wow! Now get ready airline companies for a rather new series for you to reconsider possible offenses that the board may find at your end.
