MMDA and PDEA Conduct Random Drug Testing for Provincial Bus Drivers

MMDA and PDEA Conduct Random Drug Testing for Provincial Bus Drivers -- If you happen to visit Araneta Bus Terminal in Quezon City today, you would be seeing men from the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency conducting random drug testing for the drivers who are scheduled to drive a bus going to the provinces for this Holy Week. Brilliant move, indeed!

The random drug testing are being performed to further ensure the safety of the passengers bound for their hometowns to spend the holiday.

Drivers are required to fill up a form before their 60 ml of urine samples will be tested. Drivers found positive will not be allowed to drive.

Aside from the said safety measure, passengers planning to go home may also avoid the influx of crowds swarming the bus terminals. As Victory Liner Inc. suggested, a person should travel today until before lunch time tomorrow.

In whatever case, do take note of PAGASA's reminder about a rainy week ahead.
