Manila Water and Maynilad Rates, Lower in April

Manila Water and Maynilad Rates, Lower in April -- Consumers of Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System (MWSS) and Maynilad Water Services Inc. will be enjoying a lower rate for their water consumption this April. The decrease is due to the Foreign Currency Differential Adjustment (FCDA) that the two (2) water service companies evaluate every quarter of the year.

Based on the assessment, the rate for the East Zone customers (Quezon City and Makati, southeastern part of Manila, Taguig, Pateros, Marikina, Pasig, San Juan, Mandaluyong, and Rizal province) of Manila Water Company Inc.will be having a reduction of P0.44 per cubic meter from the basic charge of P28.29 per cubic meter. This equals to the following:
  1. P9.89 savings for residential customers using 30 cubic meters per month, while there will be;
  2. P12.13 savings for semi-business, under the same monthly consumption.
  3. Less P154.14 cost for Commercial establishments consuming an average of 155 cubic meters and;
  4. P167.53 for Industrial establishments consuming the same monthly average.
For West Zone consumers (parts of Manila and Quezon City, west of South Super Highway in Makati, Caloocan, Pasay, Parañaque, Las Piñas, Muntinlupa, Valenzuela, Navotas, Malabon, and the municipalities of Baoor, Imus, Kawit, Noveleta and Rosario in Cavite province.) of Maynilad Water Services Inc., the rate cut will be by P0.16 per cubic meter, coming from the basic charge of P33.97 per cubic meter. This translates to the following:
  1. Residential customers* - to save P3.04
  2. Semi-business* - to save P4.18
  3. Commercial** - to save P96.64
  4. Industrial** - to save P105.06
* Using 26 cubic meters per month / ** Consuming 251 cubic meters per month

But of course, do not be over excited because of the above-mentioned water rate reduction! Your usual water saving practices at home must be observed still. A droplet of water saved is still a saving, no matter what.
