Egypt Train Crash, Killed 19, More Than 100 Injured -- at least 19 were reported killed while more than 100 people were injured during a transport accident in Egypt. Tuesday (Jan. 15) news have it that the mishap happened when two railroad passenger cars derailed somewhere in the south of Cairo.
Cairo's MENA news agency said that according to Health Ministry officials, the 107 injured passengers are now being treated in the hospitals near the place where the accident took place.

News also have it that the said train was carrying army recruits when suddenly the system jumped off the track. Coincidentally, this untoward incident happened on the same month when Egypt's President Mohammed Morsi named a new transportation minister who is a member of his Muslim Brotherhood group. The transport official position has been left vacant after a previous accident happened in November last year, killing 49 kindergarteners.
