PAL Brings Back Manila-Toronto Flights

PAL Brings Back Manila-Toronto Flights -- The Philippine Airlines revived its Manila-Toronto flights, according to news on Friday. A grand renewal of service after around 15 years of no direct flights to Toronto. With it active again, PAL hopes to target at least a quarter of a million Filipinos in Canada.

During the inaugural flight ceremony at held at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 2, PAL President Ramon Ang expressed his expectation that hopefully, this revived flight will boost tourism and trade between the Philippines and Canada. Thereby, PAL together with the Department of Tourism (DoT) vowed to promote the Philippines to Canadian citizens as well.

Data says that:
Filipino-Canadians are among the largest visitor groups to the Philippines, accounting for over 117,400 arrivals in 2011, and are on pace to surpass that record this year. For the first 10 months of this year, 96,000 Canadian travelers visited the Philippines.
Impressive statistics! I think the potential is already there waiting to be maintained religiously.

PAL schedule of flights to Toronto:
  • Every Wednesday, Friday and Sunday (with brand new Boeing 777-300 ER)
It is worthy to note that by January 16, 2013, the Toronto weekly flights will be quadrupled and that includes stopovers at Vancouver. Then on March 10, the service will be on a daily basis, plus 3 non-stop flights every week.

I think many of our Filipino fellows abroad will love this service improvement from PAL. It is an excellent catalyst to draw up tourism from foreign citizens as well.
