Central Visayas Workers Get P22 Wage Hike -- This could one of the delights to welcome our fellow workers based in Central Visayas (CV) as they are soon to reap the fruit of their long-time struggle towards a pay hike; They will be receiving such, aside from their 13th month pay and Christmas bonus. That's the latest news according to the National Wages and Productivity Commission (NWPC) in yesterday's report.
 The wage hike will start this December. Workers in the CV regions shall be receiving a P22 increase in their daily take-home pay.

The new wage system takes on the minimum rate for non-agriculture sectors at P327 while it is at P309 for the non-sugar agriculture such as animal husbandry, poultry, rice farming, fisheries, and coconut production.

New wage rates for Class A Areas in Central Visayas:
  1. Cities of Carcar
  2. Cebu
  3. Danao
  4. Lapu-lapu
  5. Mandaue
  6. Naga
  7. Talisay
  8. Towns of Compostela
  9. Consolacion
  10. Cordova
  11. Liloan
  12. Minglanilla
  13. San Fernando or the expanded Metro Cebu
New wage rates for Class B areas in Central Visayas:
  1. Toledo
  2. Bogo
  3. The rest of the Cebu towns except Bantayan and Camotes Islands (wage rate is now P307 in the non-agriculture sector and P292 in the non-sugar agriculture sector)
New wage rates for cities and towns of Bohol and Negros Oriental:
  • P297 for non-agriculture
  • P277 for non-sugar agriculture
New wage rates for the towns in Siquijor, Bantayan and Camotes Islands:
  • P282 for non-agriculture
  • P262 for non-sugar agriculture
Workers in sugar plantations:
  • P277 across all areas
  • P297 for those employed in sugar mills
