List of Safe to Use Brands of Christmas Lights - DTI

DTI Releases List of Safe to Use Brands of Christmas Lights -- The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) released a list of brands of Christmas lights that are safe to use for the coming Christmas season.
According to DTI Consumer Welfare and Business Regulation Group undersecretary Zenaida Maglaya, the said brands of lights bear the import commodity clearance (ICC) mark, indicating that the materials passed the agency's performance and safety standard. The secretary appealed to the public to buy only those products that have ICC stickers, for the sake of the users' safety.

The public's vigilance over ICC mark is being called upon by the DTI, hence a buyer should really make sure that what they are buying are certified products. They must bear the Name of Supplier or Distributor, with corresponding address or trademark, as well as brand name.

The public is also advised to check on the Christmas lights' rated voltage, along with the mark "for indoor use only."
