Iloilo International Airport Starts International Flights on Thursday, Nov. 8 -- Philippine's Iloilo international airport started to host direct international flights today, Nov. 8 (Thurs). The move is seen as a big push for the tourism enhancement of Iloilo and Western Visayas region.
For the inaugural flight, Budget carrier Cebu Pacific will be launching a flight to Hong Kong at 11:10 pm. A programme for the intial flight will be held at 6 pm. There will also be an inaugural flight from Hong Kong that is expected to arrive in Iloilo at 4:45am on November 9. The carrier will be carrying the heads of 10 Filipino migrant workers groups and Philippine Consul General to Hong Kong Noel Servigon.

Another flight will be coming from Singapore on November 10 at 6:10am. The carrier will carry the representatives of 12 Singaporean travel agencies.

There is also the Cebu Pacific flights to Singapore, which will start tomorrow, Nov. 9 (Fri). It will be a 3-times a week flight commitment, while Iloilo-Hong Kong flights will be twice a week.

It is estimated that a 15-per cent increase in domestic and foreign tourist arrivals can be achieved this year, counting from last year's total number of 2.47 million.

This move puts Iloilo as the fifth (5th) Cebu Pacific hub after Manila, Cebu, Clark and Davao.

Kudos to Iloilo for this grand step in promoting tourism, as well as air mobility.
