Lenten Causes Traffic in Metro Manila Tollways

nlex-traffic-jam Lenten Causes Traffic in Metro Manila Tollways. Blame it on the insanely growing motorization in the Metro, inefficient transport systems and measures, as well as lack of contingency plans that this yearly season of the Lenten has been bringing massive traffic jams specially in the tollways. This is due to the huge volume of people leaving Metro Manila to observe the season in their specific provinces.

Today, Thursday, greets the motorists with heavy traffic at the Balintawak Toll Plaza, Dau Toll Plaza, and at the Mindanao Avenue entry. Well, the situation has been bumper to bumper since yesterday.

The same scene can be observed at the Calamba Toll Plaza. Imagine a line of vehicles reaching about 3 kilometers long; That is just stressful, no doubt.

But at least, 33 ambulances were deployed along the South Luzon Expressways (SLEX), according to one motorist. This is to anticipate any future medical concerns to arise along the express thoroughfare.

According to Philippine National Police spokesman, Chief Superintendent Agrimero Cruz Jr. via a text advisory, the Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway is now on:

...moderate to heavy traffic at the Tarlac exit, and light to moderate traffic at the McArthur Highway.
Have a safe trip to everyone, specially those who decided to go home to their countrysides just to observe this year's lenten.

Meanwhile, the MMDA informed the motorists through its Twitter page:
